There’s something magical about watching the sun dip behind the moss-draped oaks of New Orleans City Park; and for Tommy and Christine, it was the perfect setting to celebrate their love story.
These two are coming to NOLA from out of town for their wedding, and let me just say they fit right in. Easygoing, full of joy, and up for anything, Tommy and Christine brought such a fun energy to their engagement shoot that the whole evening felt like hanging out with old friends.
We started our session wandering beneath the ancient live oaks, pausing along the water’s edge for those soft, golden-hour reflections. The light filtering through the moss created this dreamy, cinematic glow that made every frame feel like a Southern fairytale.
As the sun began to set, we made our way to the iconic columns in the park. The marble, the light, the couple it all came together so beautifully. These two have such an effortless chemistry that made every moment natural and candid. They laughed, they danced, and didn’t take anything too seriously which always makes for the best kind of shoot.
But we weren’t done just yet. After we wrapped in the park, we headed to Café du Monde for the only logical next step: beignets. Covered in powdered sugar and laughter, Tommy and Christine ended their night the way any good New Orleans session should; with sticky fingers, sweet treats, and genuine smiles.
I can’t wait to photograph their wedding here in New Orleans. If their engagement session is any preview, it’s going to be full of heart, humor, and a whole lot of love.
